The Committees of Piney Orchard Need You

The Committees of Piney Orchard…
Are composed of Piney Orchard residents who volunteer their time in order to keep our community looking and functioning at its best. These individuals are much appreciated and could always use additional volunteers.

The Activities Committee…
In recent past has organized events within the community such as the Easter Egg hunt, the Community Yard Sale, the Memorial Day Party and much more. This committee meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the community center at 7PM. If you would be interested in volunteering some of your time to this committee, please contact Jennifer Wiech at jwiech@pineyorchard.com.

The Communications Committee…
Is responsible for updating the Piney Orchard website and for sending our notifications, such as newsletters to Piney Orchard residents. If you would be interested in volunteering some of your time to this committee, please contact Jennifer Wiech at jwiech@pineyorchard.com.

The Fitness Center Committee…
Has recently accomplished such tasks as obtaining Board approval for a maintenance contract for the equipment in Fitness Center, upgrades to the equipment, new carpet and many other improvements to the Fitness Center. Within this committee are the Fitness Class & Tot Lot Sub-Committees. This committee meets monthly at the community center. Please contact Lou Carloni at lou@smbcinc.com for more information.

The Nature Preserve Committee…
Has been working on posting new signs at the trail entrances, creating new trail maps and generally keeping the Nature Preserve looking its most wonderful. This committee meets on the 3rd Monday of every month at the Community Center at 7PM. If you would be interested in volunteering some of your time to this committee, please contact Peter Hanan at phanan@pineyorchard.com.

The Safety Committee…
Works on Safety issues within the community that typically require long term planning. Recently this has included coordination with Anne Arundel County traffic engineers on traffic safety and traffic calming in and around Piney Orchard, the new surveillance system, regular communications with the Anne Arundel County Police Department to enhance security and much more. This committee meets monthly at the Community Center. If you would be interested in volunteering some of your time to this committee, please contact Aaron Klebanoff at aklebanoff@pineyorchard.com.

The Architectural Review Committee
Receives, reviews and makes decisions on all Architectural Change requests submitted. In addition to the maintenance of these files, this committee is also responsible for the creation and implementation of guidelines and standards for the community's architectural appearance. If you would be interested in volunteering some of your time to this committee, please contact Matt Finley at mfinley@pineyorchard.com.

CONTROLLED ACCESS AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER

NOTICE TO ALL PINEY ORCHARD RESIDENTS

In order to create a safe environment for POCA residents, please note the upcoming changes at the community center.

Effective January 01, 2008 the community center will be taking advantage of its controlled access system. Both the main and side entrances to the center will be locked at all times. Those of you holding a current POCA Access pass will have the ability to use it to access both doors as well as the Fitness Center. Anyone not having an Access pass may buzz for entry at the front door.

This will increase security at the community center for of the residents as well as POCA staff.

Thank you

NEW COMMUNITY I.D. POLICY

Please be reminded that effective September 01, 2007, Piney Orchard will require all residents attending community events to have a valid community I.D. These passes can be obtained at the community center during regular business hours at a cost of $5 for a general pool pass or $15 for an access pass. This new policy is to protect you as well as all of Piney Orchard's residents from non-residents abusing the priviledges that your dues are paying for. Please contact the management office with any questions concerning this matter.Go to Top of Page

Parking Issues on Strawberry Lake Way

As many Piney Orchard residents are most likely aware, parking on Strawberry Lake Way has become an issue. This is a county street and there are laws restricting what types of vehicles can and cannot be parked on it. Non-commercial vehicles ONLY may be parked on the shoulder of the street if necessary. Commercial vehicles and trailers may NOT be parked on the street.

In addition, we ask that any resident witnessing a commercial vehicle or trailer parked illegally on Strawberry Lake Way - Please contact the police at 410-222-8610 to report it. Doing so will help the police track the illegal activity.Go to Top of Page

POCA's Pet Policy

We would like to take a moment to remind everyone of POCA's policy on pets, which is also the law. When pets are walked in the community, off your personal property, they MUST be leashed. This is for your pets' safety as well as others' safety. It is YOUR responsibility to clean up after your pet. POCA provides pet waste stations throughout the community in various areas for your convenience. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.Go to Top of Page
